Reproductive health and youth

Tashkent city Main Health Department and city branch of the Institute of Health and Medical Statistics conducted “round-table” discussion, devoted to important issues of strengthening reproductive health of population.

The sequential realization of wide-scale tasks, identified in state programs on healthcare system reform in our country serves as important factor for improvement of quality of medical services being provided to population and strengthening of reproductive health.

The Decree of the President Islam Karimov “About State program on further strengthening of reproductive health of population, protection of health of mothers, children and teenagers in Uzbekistan for the period of 2014-2018yy” as of August 1, 2014 serves as important guidance for action in raising this work to qualitatively new level.

Cooperation of state and public organizations, educational and health facilities is also providing its results. There are performed regular medical examinations of population, including school children, students of lyceums and colleges at family polyclinics. Special attention is paid at educational facilities to establishing healthy life styles amongst youth, increasing the level of responsibility for own health, shaping in young boys and girls understanding about reproductive health.

– Our family polyclinic serves to more than 6 thousands people, - says the Chief Doctor of family polyclinic №47 of Shaykhantahur district Ozoda Islamova. – Our physicians and specialists take active participation in conducting lessons and courses on healthy life styles at educational facilities, improvement of work of “Diligent girls” circles. The pupils are drawn at established dates to in-depth medical examination.

In the course of talks with participation of representatives of relevant state and public organizations, physicians, pedagogues and students there have been discussed the issues of strengthening reproductive health, prevention of early and intermarriages, shielding youth of negative phenomena, shaping healthy life styles.
